Who We Are & What We Do

Our Customers

Supplier Diversity Europe (SDE) has been working in this area for 8 years, fostering co-operation between large companies, large public sector organisations and diverse businesses to develop best in class procurement and supply chain development programmes in Europe. It currently operates in the UK and France with plans to expand to Germany and The Netherlands.

Supplier Diversity Europe provides customised and targeted support to companies and large public sector organisations in developing supplier diversity programmes from capacity building to developing supplier relations to raising awareness with national governments and the European Union.

An important part of the SDE's work is concerned with benchmarking organisations against agreed criteria (the SDE Benchmark) developed with member organisations over recent years. This helps to find where individual companies and public sector organisations are on supplier diversity and what they need to do to integrate this area of activity into their procurement systems and overall business.

We have also recently developed a Supplier diversity Europe Euro-class standard that builds on this work.

Supplier diversity Europe works in the following ways:

• Building the capacity of large member organisations so that their supply chains operate in a way that offers a ‘level playing field’ in procurement.

• Engaging with diverse small and medium companies and organisations so that they can be linked into the network of large purchasing organisations.

• Promoting a climate of social and economic policy and activity in Europe that is conducive to the advancement of supplier diversity.

• Highlight and encourage best practice including by carrying out and commissioning relevant research.

• Brings a range of organisations and companies together sharing experience and knowledge.

Large companies that have been involved in the SDE programme in the past and present include, for example: Bristol Myers Squibb; Cisco, Citigroup, Deutshe Bank; G4S; Goldman Sachs, HP; Johnson & Johnson; Pitney Bowes; Staples/Corporate Express and Sodexo.

SDE have a small experienced team dedicated to working on the initiative, working alongside and supporting members.
