Supplier Diversity Europe (SDE) Accreditation

What is SDE Accreditation?

SDE have recently launched an exciting new initiative and we have a special introductory offer to accompany it!

We are pleased to announce The SDE Accreditation. This is a global standard achieved by organisations which have significant procurement spends. The accreditation recognises them as exemplary practitioners of supplier diversity. Organisations which earn this accreditation will be issued a certificate and can use the SDE Accreditation Logo on all of their materials.

It is valid for 2 years after which the accreditation of the organisation will be reviewed. The programme is carried out by Supplier Diversity Europe (SDE).
Organisations will also automatically receive SDE Membership which will entitle them to accreditation, training and guidance and to continue their work on building supplier relationships.

Benefits of the SDE Accreditation

The Benefits of the Accreditation include:

• Recognition by potential and existing clients in all sectors of the organisation’s leadership on Supplier Diversity.

• The ability to give a positive and pro-active response to any enquiries or questions in bids or RFI’s on sustainability, diversity and corporate social responsibility.

• Credibility with small and medium sized and diverse businesses as companies include them as part of their tendering and supplier arrangements.

• Confidence that your company’s procurement systems are delivering agreed aims and objectives on diversity and sustainability.

• Help to achieve the business benefits of supplier diversity including access to new ideas, better value and increased competitiveness.

• A good reputation, profile and brand with your customers and new potential markets.

• The opportunity to learn and exchange ideas and approaches with a number of other companies and organisations.

How does it work?

We have developed an accreditation framework that can be tailored to individual large purchasing organisations and is flexible enough to take account of their differences, e.g. size and sector. It is effectively a diagnostic tool and is an outcome-based approach.

The SDE Accreditation assessment is undertaken by experienced, knowledgeable and qualified staff appointed by SDE.

The accreditation process includes:

• Initial briefing and handing over of some background materials and questionnaire. Everything is written in user-friendly language and plain English.

• You are asked to fill in the questionnaire followed by an interview and discussion with relevant staff. This will take 2 to 3 hours.

• The SDE assessors will then carry out some desk research and review any relevant policies and procedures: Where necessary, clarification of some areas will be obtained.

• The results of this work will be scored against the accreditation system and a provisional report will be produced summarising where a company is and what is required to meet the accreditation standards.

• This will be discussed and agreed with the company, and the assessors will then provide as necessary any advice, guidance and briefings as part of the process.

• A full report will then finally be prepared with a recommendation for accreditation, subject to the approval of the SDE Accreditation Council. This Council is made up of experts on procurement, diversity and sustainability (further information on the membership of the Council will be provided).

The SDE Accreditation is valid for two years, after which time SDE will review the purchasing organisation’s programme and assess whether automatic renewal can be given or whether further work is required.

What does it cost?

As an introductory rate, we are offering a 50% discount until the end of March 2012.

The number of days required for assessment and training depends on the size of an organisation and its procurement spends. The average cost will be £2500. This includes membership of SDE.

Please contact either Beth Ginsburg or Colin Hann for further information on the accreditation process, an estimate, and the benefits of being a member of SDE.
